Rapid Intervention Kit

The Rapid Intervention Kit (RIK) is an extremely important new piece of equipment, comprising of heavy duty rescue equipment this piece of equipment has proven to be an extremely important addition to 349s' inventory. Designed by fire fighters for fire fighters Holmatro have made this piece of equipment to perfection.

The RIK is extremely useful for vehicle extraction and structural fire fighting entry. Its purpose is mainly used for cutting and spreading. Kurri Kurri 349 crew have been fully trained in its use and are confident in its workings as a life saving device.

A special thanks goes to Kurri Kurri Auto Wreckers who have have donated their time and scrap cars for us to train with.

The Rapid Intervention Kit was also used in a Rescue Display at Kurri Kurri Fire Brigades Centenary Fun Day held at the Kurri Football Ground on Saturday the 5th of February 2005.
